Esther + Wilson

It was a rainy winter’s nightEsther met Wilson for the first time at Palmer & Co on 8 June 2018 on a rainy winter’s night in Sydney, after initially connecting online. Whilst not ordinarily a spot you would expect to have a meaningful conversation, they laughed and chatted about their mutual love of carbs, chicken nuggets and cliché TVB dramas over a bottle of Prosecco. It was apparent straight away that they had a lot in common – they even liked the same ice cream flavour!

Wilson was a complete gentleman that night, sharing with his small umbrella with Esther and shielding her from the rain as they walked around Sydney frequenting several bars before having pasta for dinner. Wilson tried to impress Esther during dinner by talking about his travels, commenting that the carbonara was not as good as the one he’d had in Rome.

Fast forward to 20 March 2021, when Wilson proposed to Esther at the top floor of Strand Arcade on yet another wet Sydney day. Esther was so shocked and surprised that she did not know how to respond. Luckily for Wilson (and after a very long pause), she said YES.

Esther and Wilson got married on 24 September 2022. After much speculation about whether it would rain on the day, it lightly sprinkled as Esther and Wilson exchanged their vows huddled under a small umbrella, recreating the scenes from their first date.
